Rituals managing director of UK and Ireland Annemarie Forsyth told Retail Week she’d be keen to further expand the retailer’s Mind Oasis spa concept to other places in the UK and Ireland.

Its first UK-based Mind Oasis spa opened today (November 20) on Oxford Street, offering brain massages and hydro massages for customers, alongside a vast range of products on the ground floor.

Forsyth told Retail Week that prior to opening, spa services were booked up for the first five days as tourists, workers, and residents were keen to try out the new concept.

Though London is the first UK and Ireland city to have the Mind Oasis, she adds that there is scope to expand elsewhere.

“We’ll follow customer demand and feedback and personally, I’d love to bring this concept to Dublin – that is in my future plans but nothing is in the works yet,” she explained.

“The community in Ireland is so strong with great brand loyalty and awareness. I definitely want to bring the concept there, and in the north of England when the time is right.”

The Mind Oasis is popular across many European cities including its original location in Amsterdam, along with others in Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin and Zurich.

Rituals Mind Oasis head of concept Couro Seck created the brain massage to give customers a sensory experience aimed to relax and enter a restorative meditative state.

She added that the spa is purposely located in busy cities on busy streets, so customers can easily access the store and pop in whenever they wish.

The spa also forms part of Rituals’ largest ever UK store, with 131 sites now scattered across the country.
