Zara parent Inditex reported strong sales during its first half of the year

The InWallet app will be available as a standalone option or within the existing apps for Inditex’s eight brands: Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear, Oysho, Stradivarius, Uterqüe, Zara and Zara Home.

Isla announced the development at Inditex’s annual general meeting earlier this week.

He told assembled delegates that the app eliminates paper receipts and is designed to simplify the sale and returns process. Customers can activate the service from their app, adding their payment cards themselves.

Inditex developed the app in-house as part of its strategy to continually upgrade customer experience technology.

Isla also said that RFID (radio-frequency identification) technology was on track to be in all Zara stores by the end of the year, and would be rolled out across the seven other brands from next year.

RFID uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tiny tags attached to objects. Retailers are adopting RFID to track stock and make customer check-out easier.
