London’s newest shopping destination, Battersea Power Station, has welcomed more than 5 million visitors since opening its doors to the public six months ago.
The Grade II listed building opened in October 2022 and is now home to more than 20 shops, eateries and leisure venues.
Jigsaw, Under Armour, Swatch, David Clulow and Penhaligon’s are among its retail tenants. It also houses The Cinema in the Power Station and Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Street Kitchen & Bar.
New openings in the works for the centre and Electric Boulevard, its pedestrianised high street, include Malin+Goetz, Office, Lego, Bloobloom and ping pong venue Bounce.
Battersea will also shortly unveil an arcade food hall spread across 24,000 sq ft.
Simon Murphy, chief executive of Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC), said: “It has been brilliant to see so many people visiting the new riverside neighbourhood we have created here at Battersea Power Station over the past six months.
“It was the aim of our shareholders to give the much-loved power station a new lease of life and to open it up for the public to enjoy.
“To have welcomed more than 5 million people since the landmark opened has been a huge achievement and we look forward to welcoming more visitors throughout 2023 to discover the new stores opening and a greater food and drink offering, as well as lots of unique and family-friendly events.”
Sam Cotton, head of asset management at BPSDC, said: “To have had lots of new brands setting up shop at Battersea Power Station in a challenging retail market clearly demonstrates the appeal of this project.
“This year is set to see more fantastic openings, including some firsts for the UK with Tasha’s on Electric Boulevard, plus the highly anticipated arcade food hall in the boiler house at the heart of the Power Station, which we’re sure will be hugely popular and will draw foodies from across the capital to enjoy new dining concepts in the most unique and historic of settings.”
