Supermarket giant Aldi is set to bolster its store estate in time for summer with new openings and upgrades.

10 new stores will open over the next 14 weeks, while an additional 30 stores will be refreshed.

Boasting over 1,050 stores, Aldi is set to open in Oldbury in the West Midlands, Fulham Broadway in London, Brighouse in West Yorkshire, Caterham in Surrey, Deeside in Wales, Sheffield in South Yorkshire, Diss in Norfolk, Hilton in Derbyshire, West Denton in Newcastle, and Market Harborough in Leicestershire.

The new openings are part of Aldi’s target to reach 1,500 UK stores as it aims to invest £650m expanding its footprint this year.

Every new store is set to create 40 new jobs and offer hourly rates of at least £12.75 for store assistants, with this reaching at least £14.05 within the M25.

Each new store opening will create around 40 new jobs, all with market-leading levels of pay, boosting employment opportunities within local areas.

Aldi UK managing director of national real estate Jonathan Neale said: “At Aldi, our goal is to ensure everyone has access to high-quality food at unbeatable prices, and we’re committed to achieving that with our ambitious store opening plans.

“We’re targeting 40 new store openings in 2025, while many of our current stores will also be getting a refresh to enhance the customer experience, meaning we can consistently offer the best value for money to even more shoppers across the UK.”
