Popular US jeans brand 7 For All Mankind is expanding into retail in the UK with the launch of its first standalone store in London.

The brand, which is owned by Italian brand powerhouse VF Corporation, will open in Notting Hill’s Westbourne Grove in the autumn.

The exact date has yet to be confirmed but it is expected to coincide with London Fashion Week and 7 For All Mankind’s 10th anniversary in the latter half of September.

The denim brand is currently just sold through third-party retailers including Joseph stores and concessions in department stores.

7 For All Mankind launched as a wholesale brand in Los Angeles in 2000 but moved into retail in 2008 with the opening of a 3,500 sq ft standalone on West Broadway in New York. The London store will be its fifth in Europe after Milan, Paris, Berlin and Antwerp.

It is not known whether 7 For All Mankind is planning additional UK stores.

7 For All Mankind general manager Massimo Ferrucci said: “London is a crucial step in our retail expansion strategy as it is one of the most prestigious fashion capitals in the world.”

The opening will make 7 For All Mankind the latest in a string of clothing brands to launch their own retail operations in recent weeks, including Fly 53 and Fly London.
