Stores sign up to Web-based Sales directory

Retailers are being encouraged to sign up to an Inter-net directory that provides customers with up-to-the-minute information on Sales and promotional activity in the sector.

The site, at, intends to test consumer appetite for the service, with a London trial slated for September 8.

The initiative will enable shoppers to search for Sale information by retailer, area and product category. Retailers will also be able to track competitor activity.

Retailers pay an annual subscription and can update their entry as frequently as they want.

The Web site will carry links to respective home pages and will also log customer traffic.
