Boots to open second beauty-only concept store

The high street health and beauty retailer is bringing the concept to Cabot Circus shopping centre in Bristol to offer what it said is an “elevated and experiential” way to discover beauty.

The 11,000 sq ft store will offer over 200 well-known and emerging brands across skincare, haircare, cosmetics, fragrance, as well as premium and electrical beauty.

There will also be a dedicated space for a new selection of niche and independent fragrances. A new wellness zone will bring together products such as collagen and supplements from Boots brands.

As Korean beauty continues to boom, the new Bristol store will offer one of the largest K-beauty ranges with popular brands. It will include a curated range of premium beauty mini products and a new “trending on social” edit to bring viral items to customers.

Beyond products, the store will offer free beauty services such as skin scans, and personalised wellness advice with new 30 specialist roles including derm-trained pharmacists.

The launch forms part of the retailer’s beauty transformation programme aimed at “reshaping how customers discover beauty across its estate”.

The Bristol site will bring together learnings from new successful store concepts, including the first-ever Boots beauty store in Battersea Power Station in 2023 and the first-ever Boots fragrance boutique in Broadgate.

The group has expanded its range to now offer 500 beauty brands, as 60 new names were added last year. More than 180 beauty halls have also been revamped for improved layout, navigation and discovery.

Boots beauty director Paul Niezawitowski said: “Boots is the unrivalled home of beauty in the UK, and this new store gives us the perfect stage to showcase the best of Boots in one of the country’s most vibrant and creative cities.

“We hear a lot from customers that they want immersive shopping experiences, expert guidance and inspiration, and with price points from 50p to £500, our next beauty-only concept store certainly delivers on that and more. We’re delighted to bring to life this next exciting step in our beauty transformation.”

Hammerson senior asset manager Shelley Taylor added: “We’re proud to be partnering on the launch of Boots Beauty, which has hand-picked Cabot Circus to kick off their national growth plans. Beauty and wellbeing are in high demand with our customers, and this exciting new store format by Boots will offer never-seen-before products in the South West.

“With brands continuing to expand with us, it’s clear that Cabot Circus is the first choice for the newest, most exciting and relevant line-up for customers.”
