Clinton Cards’ administrator Zolfo Cooper is closing another 17 stores by Friday bringing the total number of closures to about 270.

The store closures are in addition to the 256 stores already closed by the end of last month, as part of a 330-store shutdown.

Zolfo Cooper said it welcomes expressions of interest in the remainder of the estate.

Last month, the remaining Clinton Cards business, including 397 stores, was bought out of administration by Lakeshore Lending, a subsidiary of the retailer’s largest creditor American Greetings.

American Greetings said in its first quarter trading update last week that it expects Clinton Cards to return to profit within two years.
