Stannifer has revealed the latest plans for its£250 million regeneration of Bradford’s Broadway shopping centre.

The design by Benoy replaces dilapidated 1960s buildings with 588,500 sq ft (54,760 sq m) of retail floorspace, plus offices and space for residential and leisure uses.

Work has already started on the 16 acre (6.4 ha) site, with completion scheduled for 2007.

Stannifer chief executive Ron Barrott said: ‘One of the innovative features of Broadway that we have given much thought to is a way of replicating the city’s traditional streetscapes, while providing better protection from the elements.’

Debenhams and Bhs are the development’s anchor tenants and Stannifer expects to announce further major lettings shortly.

Joint letting agents for the Broadway scheme are Lunson Mitchenall and Simon Lyons & Co.
