Frasers struck a £47.5m deal with JD Sports in December to acquire 15 fashion brands

In the announcement, Frasers Group confirmed the acquisition of five of the remaining seven premium fashion brands from JD Sports including Cricket, Tessuti, Scotts, Giulio and Choice.

This is part of the £47.5m deal to acquire 15 fashion brands from its sportswear rival JD Sports.

In the announcement, Frasers group confirmed it will no longer be proceeding with the acquisition of Rascal Clothing.

Rascal Clothing, which was originally included in the list of brands being acquired, was excluded from the acquisition after one of the founders exercised a pre-emption right.

A further announcement concerning the acquisition of the remaining fashion brand Topgrade Sportswear including Get the Label will be made in “due course” said the retail group.

JD Sports announced the deal in December 2022, as it aimed to increase focus on its core sports fashion business.

At the time the retailer said: “The divestment of these businesses will allow the group to focus more fully on the opportunities across the rest of the group, in particular the international and digital expansion of the group’s core premium sports fashion fascias.”
