Founder hopes to stay in footwear sector
Shoe Studio Group founder David Spitz has resigned from the company's board.

Spitz founded Shoe Studio Group in 1989. Since 2001, he has been a non-executive director and consultant to the retailer.

The move follows the announcement of the sale of Rubicon Retail, which owns Principles, Warehouse and Shoe Studio.

In June, the group announced that the Rubicon would be sold to rival fashion group Mosaic for£353 million. Reykjavik-listed Mosaic also owns Oasis, Whistles and Karen Millen.

Most of the Rubicon business is owned by the management, although Icelandic companies Baugur and Kaupthing also own shares.

Spitz said he hoped to continue in the footwear industry and was open to offers from the industry.
