Specsavers buys 10 Dutch shops

Specsavers, the UK's biggest optical retailer, has acquired 10 more stores in the Netherlands.

The purchase - from the family-owned Prins Brillen group - brings Specsavers another step closer to its ambition to become Dutch market leader. The shops will be rebranded to Specsavers, and the deal brings branch numbers to 61 in the Netherlands.

Specsavers first entered Holland in 1999 and now each of its stores there lays claim to 20 per cent of its local market.
