Somerfield brand director Martin Sutherland has stepped down as the retailer streamlines its executive team.
His duties have been split between commercial director Nigel Broadhurst and format director Kieran Mayes.
Sutherland headed the brand team for the past five years and was responsible for the food retailer's new advertising campaign, corporate identity and the launch of its updated loyalty card. He will stay on in a consultancy role to assist with the integration of the brand team into Broadhurst's commercial team.
Sutherland previously held marketing roles at WHSmith, Sears and Tesco.
