Only days left to have your say on sentencing proposals
Time is running out to have your say on the plans to downgrade penalties for persistent shoplifters.

The Sentencing Advisory Board is proposing that the penalty of prison is removed for shop thieves, even for those who have been convicted on numerous occasions.

The board's consultation period ends on Friday, so time is running out for you to lend your support to Retail Week's Take Retail Crime Seriously campaign, which is rallying support among retailers for the proposals to be abandoned.

Hundreds of Retail Week readers have lent their support already - to add yours, e-mail us at crime@retail-week.com.
