Seven in court over Asda raid

Seven men are in court today facing charges of attempting to steal£860,000 from an Asda supermarket at Leyton in east London.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad were tipped off about the raid on the store on Sunday night. Police said that walkie-talkies and video equipment were recovered at the scene, but no firearms were found.

The seven men, aged between 30 and 57, are due to appear at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court.
