Selfridges snaps up Garner for lead fashion role

Trend-setting department store chain Selfridges has appointed Anna Garner to a newly-created post as head of fashion.

Prior to her present role as fashion director at New York clothing emporium Henri Bendel, Garner also worked for Joseph and Conde Nast.

Garner is expected to play a pivotal role in leading the store's fashion teams and will report to buying director David Riddiford. She will take up the post in January.

Selfridges chief executive Peter Williams said: 'Her experience and expertise will be invaluable to Selfridges as we continue to reinforce our leadership position in this important part of our business.'
