Selfridges signs flagship boss

Selfridges is sharpening its customer focus with the creation of a store director role at its Oxford Street flagship.

The retailer has poached Miss Selfridge retail operations director Tracey Mann to fill the vacancy. She will be responsible for the store's 3,000 staff and will report to retail operations director Sue West. Mann joins the business early next month.

A second role - fashion projects manager - has also been created and is being filled by L'Oreal marketer Natalie di Giorgio.

House of Fraser senior buyer Karen Wells is also joining as brand development manager for beauty.

Selfridges is yet to appoint successors to creative director Susanne Tide-Frater and buying and merchandising director David Riddiford, who left earlier this year.

The retailer is also seeking a lingerie buying manager.

At the moment, the duties are being performed by head of fashion Anna Garner.
