Foyles at Selfridges to open in London and Manchester
Foyles, the landmark book business, is partnering up with stylish department store Selfridges to run bookshops in its London Oxford Street and Manchester Trafford branches.

The shops, which will be branded Foyles at Selfridges, are scheduled to open initially at Oxford Street and then at the Manchester Trafford store next month, in time for crucial Christmas trading.

Foyles at Selfridges will operate as concessions in more than 7,000 sq ft (650 sq m) of retail space at the Oxford Street store and 900 sq ft (85 sq m) in Manchester Trafford.

Foyles will review the range of titles on sale and focus on developing author and celebrity signings and appearances in store.

Selfridges buying and merchandising director Anne Pitcher said: 'There's a natural fit between our two brands and I believe customers will be delighted to see Foyles in our stores.'

Foyles chairman Christopher Foyle added: 'This marks another step forward for Foyles. Selfridges and Foyles share a rich heritage and are both destinations in their own right for the millions of visitors to London and Manchester. Both stores are family-owned, with an individual approach.'
