Sports Direct opened its warehouse to the public yesterday as part of an effort to be more transparent over working conditions.

Retail Week was on the spot to capture the day as billionaire founder Mike Ashley attempted to convince investors, unions and the media the company is making reforms after stinging criticisms over its working practices and coroporate governance.

Despite a carefully stage-managed day, headlines were made when Ashley produced a wad of £50 notes from his pocket during a mock security check.
