Bathroom specialist Bathstore is venturing into the kitchen and bedroom markets with the launch of new fascia Haus Store, Retail Week can reveal.
Bathstore has secured two former Betta Living premises, in Farnborough and Lakeside, for its new venture. Both branches opened on April 14 in time for busy Easter trading.
The sites, where Bathstore previously operated concessions, will offer made-to-order kitchen and bedroom furniture and accessories, in addition to bathrooms.
Bathstore, which was sold in a management buyout backed by US billionaire Warren Stephens in 2014, said its new fascia will will offer customers a “full end-to-end service”.
Bespoke service
Bespoke furniture, engineered in Germany, will be designed to meet the customer’s specifications, and Bathstore will leverage its existing services infrastructure to provide specialist installations and after-care.
Bathstore deputy chief executive Dean Weston told Retail Week that Haus Store was “the natural next step”.
“We already have the infrastructure in place as a business to support this extension to Bathstore’s core offer,” he explained.
Weston added: “This is a really exciting time for us as a business, having already established ourselves as the leading bathroom specialists we understand the complexities around bespoke home installations.
“We’ve been able to secure two prime locations on retail parks which I believe will prove a successful formula in optimising footfall and sales.”
Oldham-based kitchen and bedroom business Betta Living slumped into administration in November last year.
Earlier this week, Bathstore unveiled in-store augmented reality technology.
