BRC recognises contribution of famous people to retail
The BRC is again calling for nominations from retailers for its Celebrity Shopper of the Year award for 2005. The award will go to the celebrity who has had the most impact on the retail industry in the past 12 months.

The BRC will draw up a shortlist of 10 from retailers' nominations and ask the public to vote for a winner in August.

Retailers have until June 30 to register send in their suggestions to the BRC's web site. Any retailer that sends in a nomination will be eligible to win a magnum of champagne if their choice makes the shortlist. The winner will be announced at the consortium's annual dinner in September.

Last year's winners were Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine of What Not to Wear fame, who beat stiff competition from Victoria and David Beckham, Jamie Oliver (pictured) and Coleen McCloughlin.
