Launching on October 2, the “Great sofas, great prices” ad will focus on showcasing the autumn ranges, according to ScS chief executive David Knight. Actor Martin Kemp, who fronted the TV campaign last year, was dropped last November.
“There are no celebrities in our new commercials,” said Knight. “We want to concentrate on the look and design of the products.”
Knight said the retailer had reduced ad spend as part of its cost-saving initiatives, but said there will be no more job cuts after shedding 250 of its staff earlier this year.
He reported trading in the past seven weeks had exceeded expectations and the 95-store retailer will continue with its expansion plans, with two stores opening in the next few weeks.
