Topshop declined to provide details about the crash, but the fashion retailer responded to its customers with an apology on twitter: “Sorry if you’re experiencing problems. This is due to a huge interest in our Sale. Please bear with us - we’ll be back as soon as possible.”

According to Facebook complaints, the site started experiencing problems at around midday, about 11 and a half hours after the sale had launched.
