RW awards shortlist announced

A clutch of top retailers has made the shortlist for the Retail Week Awards 2004. The awards, sponsored by Kurt Salmon Associates, will be presented on March 1. The shortlisted retailers are:

- B&Q, Tesco and Body Shop for Corporate Social Responsibility.

- House of Fraser (City store), Orange Retail and Carphone Warehouse for Customer Service Initiative.

- Ocado, Specsavers and Carphone Warehouse for Marketing Campaign.

- Argos, Comet and QVC for Multi-Channel Retailer.

- Argos, Magnet and World Duty Free Europe for Retail Employer.

- Selfridges, Carphone Warehouse and Vodafone for Retail Innovation.

- Avon Cosmetics, B&Q, Marks & Spencer/Gist for Retail Technology.

- Cook and New Heights for Rising Star.

- New Look (Oxford Street), River Island (Oxford Street), Sainsbury's (Pimlico) and Selfridges (Birmingham) for Store Design.

- Dave Meekings (Hamleys), Steve Richardson (Iceland) and Tim Sutton (Sainsbury's) for Large Store Manager.

- Paul Scott (Early Learning Centre), Azad Hussain (McDonald's) and Jaime Keys (Virgin Cosmetics Company) for Small Store Manager.

- Focus Wickes, Somerfield and World Duty Free Europe for Supply Chain Initiative.

The top award, Retailer of the Year, will be announced on the night without shortlisting.
