Curtains and textiles retailer Rosebys has appointed David Barrett as its new chief executive.

Barrett joins from BP, where he held senior roles at BP’s European convenience retail business and, prior to that, led BP’s global franchise development team. He replaces Mark Dyson, who resigned to pursue other interests.

Barrett said: “I am pleased to be joining Rosebys at this time and leading the next stage in the company’s growth. Under Mark Dyson, the business has undertaken a tremendous amount of work in terms of repositioning itself in the market place [and] brand development, as well as working towards integration of the global textile business.

“With Rosebys being part of GHCL, the Delhi-based conglomerate, which has a strong textile manufacturing business based in India with design capabilities, we have an excellent opportunity to further develop Rosebys in the UK.”

Before joining BP, Barrett worked at Burger King International, in several retail and franchising roles.
