Nearly 800 book titles are being released today in time for Christmas in what retailers are calling “Super Thursday”.
Three times as many titles are being released today compared with an average day, including cookery books from Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver and Rick Stein.
Books from Dawn French, Michael Parkinson and rugby star Jonny Wilkinson are also in the running to make the Christmas top 10.
Borders book category manager Michael Jones told The Guardian: “ So many of the really big books that are contenders to be in the top 10 are coming out. I can’t remember there being one day or even one week when it’s been like this. We’ve known about this day for a while so we’re prepared.”
