Retail Week Interiors - Peter Jones uses talking windows to lure shoppers

Peter Jones is using Whispering Windows technology at its Sloane Street store, with dance tunes attracting passers-by.

The two-week campaign is the first of three fortnight-long bursts, with the second starting in May. Shorter campaigns have been shown to have more impact by Newlands Scientific, developers of the system.

Peter Jones was one of five John Lewis Partnership stores that trialled the technology last year. Peter Jones visual merchandising manager Kevin Jones said: 'We were pleased with the results of the previous Whispering Windows campaigns.'

Newlands Scientific reports sales uplifts of 40 per cent for featured merchandise.
