Retail Solutions - Tellermate wins Homebase cash system task

Homebase has chosen Tellermate to provide and manage cash systems for its 270 UK stores.

The Tellermate solution enters data on 20 cash and non-cash items, including cheques, gift vouchers and debit and credit card receipts, into Homebase's STAR back-office system.This task was previously completed manually by Homebase cash managers in each store.

The company estimates that the system saves its staff 45 minutes a day, adding up to a total saving of£400,000 a year.

Homebase retail trading and administration manager Martin Reeves said: 'We recognised very quickly that this was an area of our business where we could improve our operations, both in-store and at head office. Tellermate have helped us to implement radical improvements and savings.'
