RETAIL SOLUTIONS - Somerfield to install versatile EPoS solution

Somerfield has invested in EPoS and back-office management systems from Arciris, a subsidiary of Torex Retail.

The solution, which has been tested in one of the retailer's petrol forecourt supermarkets, can also be upgraded to deal with Chip and PIN transactions or for accepting the euro.

The systems will be installed in an unspecified number of franchised stores.

Somerfield head of strategic management Tom Scott said: 'We were looking for a system that was easy to use, straightforward to implement and would satisfy the requirements of both our forecourts and franchised stores.'
