Northern homewares retailer Home Bargains is rolling out a new EPoS system based around an EFTPoS processing service from XKS.
The solution, which the retailer hopes will support its entire 80-store estate, will control the authorisation of more than£25 million a year.
The move will also provide the retailer with Chip and PIN-ready systems, although integration of PIN pads at the till point is yet to be completed.
The system replaces PDQ devices supplied by the retailer's bank NatWest.
'The biggest driver was to improve customer throughput,' said Tim Donovan, IT director of Home Bargains parent TJ Morris. 'At a store we might have five tills, but only two or three PDQ terminals. This meant it took a long time to complete a transaction. Now it's all over in a few seconds.'
TJ Morris also plans to extend the system to its 20 Quality Save franchise outlets.
