Esprit Europe has signed Retek to provide its merchandising operations management solution. The software is intended to streamline the company's sales and inventory processes.
The implementation is part of an international strategy to support the software. Work has already begun in some outlets in the US, a source close to the situation confirmed.
In a statement, Esprit global retail manager Jerome Griffith said the solution will provide 'a single, comprehensive source of accurate sales and inventory information, exception-driven management based on retail alert information, improved promotions handling and merchandise allocation'.
A company spokesman said the solution was also chosen for its scalability and rapid deployment, to support the company's strategy for growth.
Esprit manages 540 outlets and 2,500 franchises worldwide and has annual sales of $1.2 billion (£759.5 million).
