Retail Solutions - DMX improves sound of music for shoppers

In-store multimedia content specialist DMX Music has developed a software upgrade to its digital music systems that enhances the sound.

The company's executives claim that the retail experience is becoming more important to many companies, especially in the fashion and lifestyle sectors. 'The quality of the brand is extended by the choice and quality of the music that customers hear when they are in the shop,' said a DMX spokesman.

However, many stores do not have state-of-the-art music reproduction equipment, and digital music suffers in these circumstances, especially if it has already been compressed to allow more music files to be stored on a PC's hard drive.

DMX is trialling the software at Kookai and Puma stores on London's Oxford Street.
