Number one electricals retailer Dixons Group is to roll out a custom-developed EPoS system to its entire estate, including Dixons, Currys and PC World, following a recently completed implementation at 288 outlets of The Link.
The system, supplied by Thoughtworks, incorporates touch-screen technology, and is capable of Chip and PIN transactions.
According to Thoughtworks, the system allows staff to be more efficient at the till, giving them more time to devote to customer service.
'Our team was able to work with Thoughtworks to quickly bring meaningful solutions to our business,' said Dixons Group programme director Kath Roach. 'The roll out of this system is great news, offering significant business efficiency. In essence, the system will allow our staff to focus on their most value-added activity - serving our customers.'
The full roll out to the 800 shops under Dixons Group's other fascias is expected to finish early next year.
