Retail Property - Leeds' Victoria Quarter signs fashion four

Leeds' Victoria Quarter has secured four leading retailers to reinforce the scheme's fashion line-up.

Jermyn Street shirtmaker TM Lewin has chosen the Victoria Quarter to open a 1,300 sq ft (120 sq m) store, its second outside London.

Womenswear retailer Coast will be testing a new shopfit at its 1,400 sq ft (130 sq m) store at the scheme, dubbed the Knightsbridge of the North.

Costume jeweller Swarovski has taken a 450 sq ft (40 sq m) store, and London-based footwear retailer Jeffery-West has taken its first step outside the capital with a 350 sq ft (33 sq m) unit.

King Sturge and Leeds-based Fawley Watson Booth are the letting agents for Victoria Quarter, which has undergone a£5 million restoration since Highstone Group, the original developer of Sheffield's Meadowhall, acquired the scheme from Prudential in 2001.

Fawley Watson Booth partner Michael Fawley said: 'The increase in quality lets at Victoria Quarter over the past year reflects the buoyancy of the luxury retail sector in the region and Leeds' heightened profile as a top UK city.'
