This is what happens when supermarkets announce silly pay rises for all staff . The rest are already following suit by reducing staff costs to balance out the daft pay rises awarded to increase recruitment and retain existing staff but unless sales and gross margins go up costs have to be reduced to pay for those pay rises. Very stupid of Asda to think this is the best way to make those savings .
