Deal could revolutionise home shopping
UK courier company Parcelnet is to merge with home shopping retailer Redcats UK in a£250 million deal, creating a 7,000-strong delivery network that seems set to revolutionise home shopping.

The integration of the companies will create enhanced service options to meet the increasing demands of the merged company's home shopping customers. It will also provide a growing range of services for more than 40 of its clients, including retailers such as Next Directory. The integration is expected to be complete by September.

Parcelnet managing director Carole Woodhead said: 'This is a very exciting time for Parcelnet. We understand the increasing demand for a range of delivery and collection options to support both the growth in remote retail and also the consumer-to-consumer market, which is largely driven by the eBay and Amazon market. We know how important it is to have full national coverage and area density.'
