International push a success for footwear specialist
Luxury footwear and accessories retailer Kurt Geiger has revealed record financial results for the year to January 28.

Sales were up 5.4 per cent to£110.5 million, with EBITDA of£7.2 million, up 10 per cent.

Ten stores opened over the course of the year, including four standalone stores. A flagship store will open on London's Regent Street this August and the group said a further 20 locations for standalone stores in the UK have been identified.

The retailer said its launch into the international markets in partnership with French department store Printemps had been successful, 'exceeding initial expectations'. It said it had been approached by potential partners to enter other international markets and was assessing these opportunities on a 'market-by-market basis'.

Trading is strong, with double-digit like-for-like sales increases for the four months to May 31. Five stores were opened during the first quarter, including two standalone stores in Liverpool's Met Quarter and Luton Airport.

The group reported that its recently launched web site is trading at double its forecast expectations.

Kurt Geiger operates 87 outlets, including concessions.
