Group demands L
Naturewatch, the anti-animal testing campaign group, has staged a protest outside the Littlehampton headquarters of The Body Shop.

The group objects to the sale of the ethical health and beauty chain to French cosmetics giant L'Oréal. It argues that while The Body Shop retains its cruelty-free policy, its new parent company falls short of the standards they expect.

One protestor wore a dress made out of Body Shop loyalty cards sent to Naturewatch by disgruntled customers.

Naturewatch announced a boycott of the beauty retailer shortly after the£625 million takeover was announced in March this year. The group said it will continue campaigning until L'Oréal ends testing on animals.

L'Oréal maintains that it does not test its products on animals, although it cannot make that guarantee for all of the ingredients it buys from other companies. It said The Body Shop's Against Animal Testing policy still applies.
