Updated: US lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret has confirmed it has signed for its first UK store on London’s upmarket New Bond Street, as revealed by Retail Week this month.

The 16,500 sq ft store, which will not open until 2012, is located on the “prestigious corner of New Bond Street and Brook Street”, according to Victoria’s Secret owner Limited Brands.

The site is currently occupied by luxury knitwear brand Pringle, which will move in to smaller premises in Mayfair.

Victoria’s Secret has been eyeing stores in the capital for some time. It is thought the retailer considered the former Nokia store on Regent Street, which the mobile phone operator exited this year, but decided it was too small.

Earlier this month Retail Week revealed that the retailer was on the verge of signing for a store on the famous shopping destination.

Property agents CB Richard Ellis and DE&J Levy advised Victoria’s Secret.
