Car manufacturer Hyundai is opening a new digital car showroom in Bluewater, as it aims to make car-buying a less intimidating experience.

The 2,000 sq ft store, which it has secured on a 10-year lease, enables shoppers to research the cars, get a price for their old car, choose a payment option and book a test drive.

When it opens in November, the store will offer customers the opportunity to test-drive the whole range of Hyundai cars via a dedicated parking area near to the rear of the store.

Customers will also be able to organise a car service from a new Hyundai car service facility set to open near to the shopping centre, so customers can have their car serviced while they shop.

Hyundai partnered with company Rockar to create the Rockar Hyundai format. Rockar was formed in 2011 to develop a customer-focused car retail offer.

Hyundai Motor UK president and chief executive Tony Whitehorn said: “Rockar Hyundai is the shape of things to come. It offers consumers an easy and flexible alternative to buying and owning a car, unprecedented in the UK automotive industry.”
