Property News - Whiteley Village appoints agent for turnaround

Universities Superannuation Scheme has appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to improve the performance of its Whiteley Village outlet centre in Hampshire.

The agent has taken over letting and asset management of the scheme, which is 25 minutes from Portsmouth, home to Gunwharf Quays.

A new two-year business plan has been agreed to extend the catchment of Whiteley Village to focus on shoppers within a 45-minute drive-time.

'Looking at exit surveys, we have a lot to do,' said Jones Lang LaSalle senior surveyor Robert Crowther.

To drive sales densities, the size and proportions of existing units are being closely scrutinised. 'We're looking to put in more footfall-driving tenants,' said Crowther.
