Property News - Tenants rejigged at Market Gates centre in Bolton

Agora Shopping Centres, the northwestern retail property fund set up by Warner Estate and Bank of Scotland, has started to revamp the tenant mix at its Market Gates shopping centre in Bolton.

Top Man is relocating from its ground-floor unit to a 1,965 sq ft (180 sq m) space on the first floor, adjacent to Top Shop. The move has allowed River Island to extend its store from 6,720 sq ft to 9,340 sq ft (625 sq m to 865 sq m), and has also created space for a 2,155 sq ft (200 sq m) unit that has been pre-let to La Senza.

Agora senior asset manager Jason Barnsdale said: 'It makes much more sense for Top Man and Top Shop to present a united front, shoppers are used to seeing the brands together.'

He said the fund plans to invest£40 million in upgrading its seven malls, the rest of which are located at Preston, Middleton in Manchester, Birkenhead, Ellesmere Port, Sale and Liverpool.
