Property News - Pillar bows out of leisure sector in £171m sale

Pillar Property has successfully exited the leisure sector by selling its Omni development in Edinburgh and its Fulham Broadway scheme in London to private investors for a combined£171 million.

The Fulham Broadway development has been sold for£96.7 million. The scheme, completed in 2002, provides 196,500 sq ft (18,255 sq m) of retail and leisure space, with 146 parking spaces. The tenant line up includes Sainsbury's Central, Warner Village Cinemas, David Lloyd Leisure, Borders and Virgin Megastore.

FPD Savills and Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Pillar.

Meanwhile, Omni, a freehold city centre leisure scheme in Edinburgh, has been sold as a working business. The sale includes the property assets for£74.3 million. Omni provides 217,450 sq ft (20,200 sq m) of leisure space, which is anchored by a 12-screen Warner Village multiplex.
