A joint venture between Frontier Estates, Chubb Common Investment Fund and Thistle Land has applied to Welwyn Hatfield Council for consent to build a 498,900 sq ft (46,350 sq m) district centre on a 16 acre site at Hatfield Business Park.
Known as Comet Square, the scheme will provide a foodstore and smaller shops, as well as residential units, a hotel and restaurants.
Eric Petrie, joint venture partner of Thistle Land, said: 'Hatfield Business Park is one of the primary business hubs in the north-west quadrant of the M25 and we aim to create a thriving district with a real sense of community, which will complement the park's current offer.'
DTZ Debenham Tie Leung and Rapleys are advising Frontier Key Fund.
