JJB Sports has signed up for a 12,450 sq ft (1,155 sq m) store at Tops Estates' Cathedral Plaza shopping centre in Worcester, joining H&M, Next and Slater Menswear, which opened before Christmas.
The JJB store on the first floor will be accessed from the ground floor via an escalator and lift pod, which are being constructed to allow trading to begin in the spring.
Tops created the four units from the former Russell & Dorrell department store, which, at 65,000 sq ft (6,040 sq m), was Worcester's largest retail development for more than a decade.
Tops now has three further enhancement phases planned at the centre, including the creation of another 40,000 sq ft (3,715 sq m) of retail space on two levels that could trade as a single store or up to seven smaller units. DTZ is the letting agent.
