Property news - CIT Group draws fashion brands to Port Talbot

CIT Group has agreed a string of lettings at the 260,625 sq ft (24,210 sq m) Aberafan Shopping Centre at Port Talbot, Wales, where anchor tenants include Boots, Iceland, Argos, Superdrug, Woolworths and Wilkinson.

New Look has taken 3,730 sq ft (345 sq m) of retail space; Warren James has 1,215 sq ft (110 sq m), Bodycare has 2,300 sq ft (215 sq m), Card Factory has 1,490 sq ft (140 sq m) and Owen Sports has taken 1,335 sq ft (125 sq m). Lease terms range from 10 years to 15 years, and new rents total£180,000 a year.

CIT Asset Manager Jeremy Bullock said: 'The decision by these multiples to locate at Port Talbot further enhances the reputation of the town.'
