Property News - Card Factory sets record rent at Broadmead

Card Factory has set a record rent for the Broadmead shopping centre in Bristol city centre, taking 65 Broadmead on a lease from Morley Fund Management.

The company has taken a lease on the 1,100 sq ft (100-sq m) ground floor shop, with additional accommodation on the first and second floors, at a starting rent of£120,000 a year. This reflects more than£190 Zone A, a record rent for the shopping centre.

Andrew Capes, partner at letting agent Hartnell Taylor Cook, said: 'This rent level demonstrates that there is a lot of pent-up demand from retailers for units of the right size and location in Broadmead. We had substantial interest and competition for this store.'
