Property News - Alba Town's Glasgow Cross project is given go-ahead by City Council

Glasgow City Council has granted permission to Alba Town's£30 million regeneration proposal for a mixed-use development scheme at Glasgow Cross.

Derelict land between Bell Street and High Street will be transformed to create 18,000 sq ft (1,670 sq m) of prime retail space, with 170 two- and three-bedroom luxury apartments on the upper floors.

Construction of the project, funded by Royal Bank of Scotland, will be phased over two years, with completion expected in summer 2006.
