LK Bennett has finally been bought by Phoenix Equity Partners, as revealed by RW Online (June 10). Phoenix has teamed up with Sirius Equity to acquire the fashion retailer for £100 million, nine months after the footwear and fashion retailer began the sale process.
The sum fell short of the£150 million price tag founder and “queen of the kitten heel” Linda Bennett is understood to have wanted.
Sirius co-founder Robert Bensoussan will become chairman of the retailer and will work with Phoenix to drive growth, including overseas expansion, licensing opportunities and range development. Bennett will remain a non-executive director.
The retailer has 90 stores and concessions in the UK.
