Pets at Home is set to open four new stores this month in an investment worth £3m.
The new locations in Giltbrook, Nottingham; Stocksbridge, Sheffield; Kew, London and Glossop, Derbyshire will add more than 20,000 sq ft of veterinary and retail space to the group’s estate.
Stores in Kew and Glossop are to open this Friday, with the former dedicated solely to retail services and the latter featuring a vet practice alongside retail, aquatics and adoption centres.
Later this month, new Vets for Pets practices will open in Stocksbridge and Giltbrook.
Pets at Home said the new openings were part of a “continued investment in expanding and updating its national petcare centre network”, and showed that it was “strengthening its position” as the UK’s leading petcare business.
Pets at Home chief operating officer Anja Madsen said: “Continued investment in our physical estate is central to our retail strategy and to strengthening our wider petcare ecosystem. By modernising our stores and expanding into new locations, we are enhancing the in-person experience that so many of our customers value, from tailored advice to convenient, integrated services. These new openings reflect our commitment to building a contemporary, future-ready estate that supports pets and their owners, however they choose to shop.
“We want every visit to Pets at Home to feel special, with moments of magic for pets and their pet parents, as well as the confidence that they are getting the right support at every stage of their pet’s life.”
Pets at Home now operates 460 stores and is in partnership with more than 450 Vets for Pets Practices.
